Compliance Management System Principles
Compliance is much more than just obeying laws, regulations and standards. Additional strict rules and guidelines run through all areas of activity of flatex AG. In this way we guarantee the most complete protection possible for the company, investors, customers and employees. Honest, fair, transparent, responsible and correct conduct are core elements that must be combined with the required level of expertise, professionalism and integrity. This is the benchmark by which behavior must be measured among each other and in relation to customers and business partners, competitors and society. The implementation of and compliance with the relevant legal, supervisory and internal regulations and other relevant laws and rules are basic requirements. The basis of our Compliance Management System is our Code of Conduct, which defines the ethical and legal framework. The Code of Conduct contains, among other things, clear instructions for dealing with and relations with customers, suppliers, shareholders, investors and competitors and lays down measures to prevent conflicts of interest, bribery, the granting of advantages, money laundering and market abuse. It is published on the website of flatex AG. In addition, flatex AG, as a listed company, is subject to the German Corporate Governance Code with the provision of the "comply or explain" principle. This describes statutory regulations for the management and supervision of German listed companies and also reflects current national and international developments and standards of good and responsible corporate governance.
We support international efforts to combat money laundering (Anti-Money Laundering, AML), terrorist financing and other criminal activities through our comprehensive anti-money laundering program. Customers and ongoing transactions are monitored under this program using thorough procedures and automated filtering and monitoring systems. Our AML standards comply with the relevant legal requirements and the guidelines of the financial supervisory authorities. They are also based on the recommendations of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF). Our anti-money laundering policy applies Group-wide to all business units, regardless of their geographical location. All our employees and managers are required to comply with them to prevent our name or our products and services from being misused for money laundering purposes. We only conduct business transactions in which our partners have been clearly identified and require all employees to critically analyze the underlying transactions behind our commitments and to document any suspicious facts so that participation in money laundering transactions can be effectively prevented. We expect the same care from our business partners. To ensure that we always apply the best possible practices, we continually review our money laundering prevention goals and strategies.
